The Separate Accounts Reporting unit is responsible for internal and external financial reporting and analysis for the Individual Life and Annuity Separate Accounts as well as for the daily operational roles of performing cash trading, product pricing and performance reporting.

This position is in the Investing and Regulation area within Separate Accounts. The primary responsibilities of the role are as follows:
  • Supervision of two staff members and providing training and development for these associates.
  • Supervise the investing process including coordination and interaction with outside areas. Process contract holder activity and trade shares with fund managers. Review cash estimates and trade tickets; approval of wires and vouchers for these trades.
  • Participate in testing of new marketing initiatives (such as new product or fund additions) as they relate to our Investing process.
  • Supervise the pricing process. Gather net asset values from various fund companies and use these to create unit values for our Separate Account products. Ensure the unit values are sent to our Administrative platforms which house contract holder information.
  • Fixed Trade process. Review and approval of money movements for our Fixed investments.
  • Supervise Daily Tracer Annotations process. Send trade information to and partner with Treasury unit in order to reconcile certain bank accounts.
  • Perform month-end close responsibilities. This entails preparing and reviewing vouchers (such as accruals for assets and liabilities) and proofs (such as a ledger to system compare) and sending information to our internal customers.
  • Perform year-end close responsibilities. Prepare and review financial statements and footnotes for our registered Separate Account entities. Includes making changes based on auditors' comments and reviewing filings after receipt from our printing company. Supervision of the NSAR and 24F-2 filings required by the SEC. Preparation of tax filings for Corporate and Partnership filings.
  • Maintain our daily investing Excel file. Make updates to the file for various changes such as fund additions and expirations, update bank account information and fund manager contacts.
  • Prepare quarterly package for our three Real Property Accounts' SEC 10Q/10K filings. Includes preparing our financial statements and gathering data from the Real Property Partnership area.
  • Participate in various projects related to process efficiencies and improvements.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, such as Accounting or Finance
  • 2 - 4 years of work experience
  • Supervisory Experience is a plus
  • Interpersonal, communication and partnering skills
  • Comfortable with both Reporting and Operational roles
  • Analytical, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel - prior experience with Macros and Lookups is desired
  • Access experience a plus
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Self-motivated, innovative and proactive
  • Overtime is required during peak reporting or project periods
