PCG FINANCE ASSOCIATE MANAGER - CONTROLLER and PARTNERSHIP ACCOUNTING

Prudential Capital Group (PCG), a unit in Prudential Investment Management (PIM), is a leading private placement manager with over $43 billion in assets under management. PCG invests in private placement debt and private equity securities. Headquartered in Newark, NJ, PCG has regional offices in Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas, Atlanta, New York, London, and Frankfurt.

This individual will participate on a 4-person team dedicated to financial reporting for PCG legal entities, primarily partnerships and will interact with other areas of PIM Finance and Prudential. PCG Finance's deliverables adhere to strict deadlines in an environment where ad-hoc assignments often occur.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Ensure the timely and accurate recording of ledger activity and reconcile trial balance accounts
  • Perform the monthly close process including GAAP package review, journal entry approval, and reporting requirements
  • Prepare periodic financial statements for PCG entities
  • Coordinate audits and tax return review by independent auditors
  • Maintain partnership books and records. Perform income allocations, capital calls, distribution analysis, partners' capital schedule updates, and related compensation plan analysis and reporting
  • Provide accounting oversight of internal vendors, make accounting recommendations based on GAAP
  • Assist in the Sarbanes-Oxley documentation update and review

Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of partnership or fund accounting experience
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting. CPA or CPA candidate, a plus
  • A solid understanding of accounting theory and the ability to research and interpret GAAP principles
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Self motivated and proactive
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge of ORACLE, INVESTRAN, a plus

Comments:
  • Overtime will be required during peak periods.
