Team Lead, Financial Reporting | Prudential | Parsippany, NJ

PREI Overview This position is part of the Prudential Real Estate Investors Finance Unit. Prudential Real Estate Investors (PREI) provides global investment management services to institutional investors worldwide. (PREI) is the real estate investment management business of Prudential Financial. PREI is comprised of fund management centers in Parsippany, New Jersey; Atlanta, Georgia; Munich, Germany; London, England; Brazil; Mexico and Singapore; supported by a network of local offices throughout the world. PREI's specialized operating units offer a broad range of investment opportunities and investment management services in the United States, Europe, Asia and Latin America. PREI manages approximately $41 billion of gross assets ($30 billion net) on behalf of more than 300 clients and is ranked among the largest real estate investment managers.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
  • Review of 3rd party portfolio financial statements - prepared on a quarterly/annual basis. 3rd party portfolio financial statements are prepared for each of the funds that are managed by PREI. They are prepared under different basis including but not limited to GAAP, IFRS, Income tax, etc.
  • Coordination of the guarantee and commitment off-balance sheet process.
  • Participate in on-site/in-house property manager reviews.
  • Research technical literature for accounting policy related to the funds.
  • Assist with industry wide initiatives.
  • Assist with PREI initiatives.
  • Assist with Sarbanes Oxley testing.
  • Assist with auditor coordination.
  • Responding to various ad hoc requests from senior executives and areas outside PREI.
  • Recommending improvements of the reports and information currently produced to assist in making them more useful to PREI and PIM management.

Qualifications
The candidate must have significant experience in preparation and analysis of financial statements and have a solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles. The candidate must be able to manage multiple assignments and priorities. Additionally, the candidate is required to have high ethical standards and be able to work with confidential information.

Other Qualifications
  • Undergraduate or advanced degree in Accounting, must be a CPA or parts passed.
  • Experience with preparing/reviewing financial statements.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with standard PC applications such as Excel and Word.
  • Ability to deal effectively with all levels including business unit senior management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Self motivated and proactive.

Comments
The position is located in Parsippany.

Overtime is required periodically, especially during quarter-end and year-end closings.

Light travel may be required. Outside candidates will be considered.
